I can share my name using simple Japanese.
Materials - Number flashcards.
Greetings in Japanese, mark roll (10 min)
Onamae wa nan desu ka - introduce language and gestures - Introduce onamae wa nan desu ka? ____ desu. + gestures – practice with a partner (10 min)
Numbers - introduce numbers up to 10. (10 min)
Game - Pacman
Japanese number rap (5 min)
Lesson 2
Learning Intention:

Materials: 1x learning wall per student, number flashcards, ga suki/ga suki janai flashcards.
Greetings in Japanese, mark roll, rules. Give out Japanese books - doozo - arigatou (10 min)
Onamae wa: Onamae wa nan desu ka ____desu. + gestures (5 min)
Learning Wall - give these out and glue into books (10 min)
Japanese numbers - revise numbers and mnemonics (5 min)
New focus language - up and move Introduce ga suki desu/ ga suki janai desu including gestures.
(10 min)
Suki/ janai writing - Students will write a sentence in their Japanese books for 'suki desu' and suki ja nai desu'.

Lesson 3
Learning Intention:
We are learning to make comparisons between school life in Australia and Japan.
Success Criteria: I will be successful when ..
I can identify a similarity and difference between school life in Japan and Australia.
Greetings in Japanese, Mark roll etc. (10 min)
Onamae wa nan desu ka? ____ desu. + gestures (10 min)
Japanese Schools ( 30 min)
Focus Question - What do you think schools in Japan are like? What do you think might be the same or different to our school?

Discuss the similarities/differences between Japan and Australia
Focus: Respect – how do student’s show respect towards their teachers? Body language/gestures/language (Sensei/gozaimasu) (10 min)
What would you do if you were late to class? In Japan (please excuse me for being late - bow- apologise to class and teacher for interrupting)
Number revision (20 min) – revise numbers introduce ‘ji’ and ‘han’ Densha game – row game.
