Lesson 3
Lesson Preparation: Students need Hiragana chart from last week.
Children will be placed in groups of 3-4 and each group will need an Helpful expression match up sheet. Please have these cards cut apart prior to our lesson.They also need scissors.
Additional activity: Children will need a copy of the Hiragana chart below and a device (laptop/chromebook/iPad).
Victorian Curriculum: Exchange greetings and introduce and share information about self with the teacher and peers using simple language and gestures. Recognise and copy some hiragana.

Sensei will revise language from our 'Simple Greeting Song' in Term 4 last year and revise gestures. (10 min)

Children will be given vocabulary cards in Japanese and English and working in small groups they must match these.
Around the world
Students make a circle. One student is chosen to stand behind another student around the circle. The teacher call out greeting word and the first of two people to answer correctly in English is crowned the ‘champion’. They stand up, moving their way around the circle competing against the other students until someone else is faster. If someone is faster to answer, they swap over and a new champion is crowned.
