Do you remember how to say hello in Japanese? Hello in Japanese is Konnichiwa. Watch the video below and see if you can catch when people say Konnichiwa.
Can you say Konnichiwa to the members of your family?
Remember to bow when you say it- that's what they do in Japan!
They used another word in the video clip too sayounara what do you think this means? Have a guess. Discuss this with a grown up.
Sayounara means goodbye.
Click below to listen to the word.
Wave at your pet or find a toy and say 'sayounara'.
Look at the pictures below. Have you seen clothing like these before? These are called kimono and Japanese people wear them for special occasions like weddings, graduations and festivals. Both boys and girls can wear kimono. They come in many different colours and patterns. Which is your favourite?
You are going to decorate your own kimono. If you have a printer you can have an adult print off the file below. If not, you will need to get a piece of paper and have a try at drawing your own kimono like the one below.
Remember kimono come in lots of different colours and patterns. You can draw a boy or girl kimono. Good luck!
